It is imperative that we all take the necessary measures to reduce the transmission of this disease.  This includes the Government's advice on social distancing, a necessity to try and kerb this virus and return to the lives we enjoyed beforehand.  

Please adopt social distancing at all times including when out walking.

Remember:  KEEP  YOUR  DISTANCE and wear a mask when going to the shops!

Ruspidge Field - Cabin units

The field has 3 units in place - changing rooms with showers; referees room; separate toilet block. The council is keen to see the field used for various activities - Do you belong to a club? Do you run a youth club? Do you organise family group activities? If you are interested in hiring the facilities please call the Clerk on 825343 for further information.

White Goods Safety Check

Gloucestershire Fire and Rescue Service attends more than two incidents every month involving defective white goods.  A family of seven in Matson suffered a serious fire in their home which was started by a condenser dryer.

Police 'Community Alerts' system.

Please take a read of the Community Alert Letter. This will explain the new system. This new system allows Police to engage with the local residents more and keeps local residents up to date with local crime and recent Police activity. 

Residents and businesses can either sign up for Community Alerts themselves using the link provided on the letter or they can fill out the paper registration form and return it to:

SNOW - HIGHWAYS is responsible for snow clearance of roads, management of snow plough operators and supplying grit to regular verge side grit bins.  Tel:  08000 514 514 - ask to be put through to Cannop.  This is your local Highways depot who will be able to advise further.
In general only A and B roads are gritted.

Salt/Grit Storage Bins - The parish council have two small storage bins where limited bags of grit are stored. The grit is not for use on private driveways but for use on roads.

Ruspidge parish - the bin is situated at Buckshaft Road, near the Forest View junction (by sub-station 2852).

Soudley parish - the bin is situated to the left of the Soudley Village Hall, near the entrance to the playing field. 

During the winter season contact details to arrange collection of grit will be attached to each bin.
